Mt. Clemens, MI— For the past 50 years, there has been a very special tradition that has been going on in Macomb County. The Santa parade in Mt. Clemens, presented by the Mount Clemens Parade Company. In association with the parade’s many volunteers and sponsors.
The Santa Parade started in 1975 when a single Santa Claus float showed up at the neighborhood department store. Since then, the parade has grown in size.
Participants include local high school marching bands, dance studios, youth groups, service clubs, community organizations, and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. According to an email from Eric Rick, an organizer for the Mount Clemens Parade, “This year there will be approximately 100 units.” In 2007 there were ninety units for that parade.
In an email, Eric Rick responded to a question regarding the parade, “We are thrilled to see this tradition continue for 50 years. It’s only thanks to the support from so many businesses, organizations, the city, and, of course, the dedicated volunteers across the generations that we can keep doing this. Here’s to another 50 years of holiday cheer! ”
This year’s parade grand marshals are Diane and Nelson Jackson.
The Santa parade is on November 22, 2025, at 10:00am and is free to the public. The parade route starts at Church Street and ends at Clinton Street, running down Main Street in Mt. Clemens. There will be parking available in the municipal parking lots, located in downtown Mount Clemens.
