The band that helped define the West Coast metal scene in the 80s announced the release of their next full-length album, Lifetime in Hell, set for release on February 19, 2027 via Napalm Records. Following the announcement, the band released the first single from the album, “Escapegoat.“

Heathen’s vocalist David White said the track is a “long time in the making” and offers a “glimpse into the intensity” of the album. He added that the band has plans to play the song on their 2026 U.S. tour with Forbidden and Void. Followed by a European tour early next year.

Guitarist Kragen Lum explained that the music video for “Escapegoat” reflects “the distractions we live in—gaming, binge‑watching, drugs—and our attempts to escape.” The video shows band members battling surreal scenes before breaking free on stage.

Heathen formed in 1984, released classic albums Breaking the Silence (1987) and Victims of Deception (1991), and returned after a brief hiatus in 2001. The album is available now for pre-orders on Napalm Records’ website.

Fans can find tour dates for Heathen on the Heathen’s website.
