Ocean Sleeper has released “My Forever Drug,” the third single from its forthcoming sophomore album, Peace When I’m Dead, which is scheduled to be released August 21, 2026.

The band is also confirming national tour dates for Australia starting September 4. 2026.

The new track is the latest chapter in Peace When I’m Dead, following earlier releases that build toward the album’s broader narrative. “My Forever Drug” arrives with a music video that completes a three-part story. The visual centers on a man trapped in a painful time loop, forced to relive the same moment repeatedly after the suicide of his partner.

In a collaboration that brought the band together with L.A.-based producers Jon Lundin and Curt Martin, the song was written, recorded, and completed rapidly. Ocean Sleeper worked with Lundin—who has credits working with Point North and Sleeping With Sirens—and Martin, whose past credits include Catch Your Breath and Kami Kehoe. The track was engineered in Melbourne at Ionei Heckenberg’s Studio, with mixing and mastering handled in Portland by Jeff Dunne.

According to the band, the single emerged during a high-pressure moment: Ocean Sleeper say a last-minute call led them to Lundin and Martin’s L.A. studio toward the end of their U.S. tour. They describe the writing and recording process as swift and decisive, with “My Forever Drug” created start-to-finish in about six hours.

Peace When I’m Dead is set to explore grief, guilt, and regret, with lyrics and themes that Ocean Sleeper say confront depression and emotional lows directly. The band frames the album as a form of release—giving voice to difficult feelings in a way meant to resonate with listeners.

Ocean Sleeper vocalist and manager Karl Spiessl said the momentum has been shaped by global touring and audience response. “After finally breaking into global touring and just returning from another tour throughout the UK and Europe, it gives new meanings in multitudes, appreciation and gratitude for people connecting with our songs,” Spiessl said. He added that playing sold-out shows overseas, with fans already knowing the new material, has been “an incredible feeling.”

Having completed a UK and Europe run of the tour, Ocean Sleeper will bring the tour to Australia in September. The Peace When I’m Dead Tour begins Sept. 4 at Liberty Hall in Sydney and then moves to Brisbane’s The Princess Theatre on Sept. 5 (sold out). Additional dates include Magnet House in Perth on Sept. 10, Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Sept. 11, and a final home-state show at the Forum in Melbourne on Sept. 12. The band has flagged that the Brisbane date sold out quickly, urging remaining ticket holders to purchase promptly.
