MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. — A day‑long community music festival benefiting Special Olympics Michigan is set for Aug. 9 in downtown Mount Clemens. The 2026 Wertz Warriors All‑Star Summer Jam will run from noon to 10 p.m. along Macomb Place.
The event will feature two stages of continuous live music, including performances. On the main stage, local bands Sweet Crystal, Aqua Monkey, Mojo Filter, The Sax Maniacs, Summer Breeze, Ryan Scott & The Creek Hounds, Sound Project, and Motorvibe will hit the stage.
The acoustic stage will host Michelle Wolf, Kynd Acoustic, Autumn Raynes, and other local artists.
The festival will feature food trucks and vendors selling a variety of cool items. There will also be raffles, activities for families, and a special kid zone to keep the little ones entertained. This big event is being put together by a team of organizers, including Eastside Music Scene, the Wertz Warriors, and the Mount Clemens Downtown Development Authority, all working together to make it happen.
Kim Van Loo, the person who started Eastside Music Scene, wants this festival to show off local musicians and help athletes from Special Olympics at the same time. She believes that music is really good at getting people together, which is a pretty cool thing.
The Wertz Warriors, started by former Detroit Tigers player Vic Wertz, have been raising money for Special Olympics Michigan for a long time. According to the Mount Clemens DDA, this festival also showcases the businesses in downtown and gets the community involved. It’s a great way to bring people together and support a good cause. By highlighting what downtown has to offer, the festival helps to build a sense of community and make the area a more vibrant place to be.
