St. Clair Shores—The Aqua Freeze Festival, which features ice sculptures and activities for the family, returns to Blossom Heath this year.
The annual event takes place on January 23 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. and on January 24, 2026, from 12:00 to 10:00 p.m. Blossom Heath Park is located at 24800 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores.
This year’s events include ice carving and sculptures, which are always a big hit among visitors. There’s also putt-putt golf, live music, a beer tent, and several food trucks. Everyone can find something to see and do here.
In an email, Henry Bowman, the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation Department’s Events Director, stated that the Aqua Freeze Festival is “a go.” Bowman also stated in the same email that “…due to the cold weather, we had to cancel the horse-drawn wagon rides.”
The National Weather Service is predicting Friday’s high of 8°F with a low of -6°F. But there will be places to warm up, with the beer tent and the fire pits.
One of the most popular events is the ‘Fire and Ice Tower.’ The flaming ice tower event is scheduled for Friday night, January 23. It is exactly as you might expect. An ice sculpture encircles firewood and is set on fire. The flames of the fire shine through the ice.
The Orbitsuns, a local favorite, will be performing at the St. Clair Shores Aqua Freeze Festival. They will hit the stage Friday at 7:30pm.
Aqua Monkey and Black Mountain Son, another local favorite band, will perform on Saturday. Aqua Monkey will hit the stage at 1:00pm, followed by Black Mountain Son at 6:00pm.
Even though Old Man Winter might try and remind us that winter is still here, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be fun to be had at this year’s Aqua Freeze Festival.
