The time between Christmas and New Year always appears to be a slow time for things to do. You could hang out at the mall, but it will be crowded with people returning holiday gifts. So if someone is looking for something to do, there are some suggestions that may help fight the boredom.
Blossom Heath
- If you weren’t able to visit the “Tunnel of Lights” at Blossom Heath Park, don’t worry. The city of St. Clair Shores will keep the light display on at Wahby Park and at Blossom Heath. The parks are located at 24800 Jefferson Avenue, and the lights will be on display until approximately January 24, 2026. There will be no entertainment, marketplace, or food trucks, but you will be able to experience the wonders of the “Tunnel of Lights.” The event is free for everyone.
Civic Center Arena
- Another suggestion is to head over to the St. Clair Shores Civic Center Arena at 20000 Stephens. The Civic Arena will be hosting open skate sessions. From December 26 to December 30, “Public Skate” will be held between the hours of 3:00pm and 5:00pm. For adult “open skate”
- The Civic Center Arena will be the place to try out that new hockey stick that you got for Christmas or get some practice in before that next hockey game. From December 26 to December 30, the arena will be having “Stick & Puck” for adults and youth. Times will vary, and some rules apply to being on the ice, so check the Civic Center Arena website for times.
Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum
If you are looking for a taste of yesteryear, then the St. Clair Shores Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum might be what you are looking for in something new to do this week. Located at 22504 E Eleven Mile Rd, St. Clair Shores, the museum will be open on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. But the museum will be closed on December 31, 2025.
